Job description
Position Summary
The Repack Supervisor manages the allocation of packaging materials and ensures data accuracy in production systems. Conducts end-of-day checks in Famous, monitors production overages, and verifies pack-out percentages to maintain quality. Oversees inventory assignment using FIFO, confirms proper warehouse placement of repacked pallets, and communicates with Production and Warehouse Managers about missing inventory. Ensures quotas are met daily, coordinates with Sales and Production teams for scheduling, and upholds strict compliance with FDA/USDA regulations and GMPs. Oversees production data entry, label staging, and traceability audits while fostering continuous improvement and workplace safety. Adjusts work hours during peak seasons and provides cross-functional support as needed.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Inventory & Packaging Accuracy: Ensure correct allocation of packaging materials and verify data entry integrity.
- Production Oversight & Quality Control: Conduct end-of-day checks in Famous, investigate discrepancies, and ensure production overages are addressed.
- Scheduling & Inventory Management: Assign bulk inventory to Work Orders based on FIFO principles or customer guidelines.
- Warehouse Coordination: Confirm accurate warehouse placement of repacked pallets and report missing inventory to managers.
- Regulatory Compliance & Best Practices: Maintain adherence to customer specifications, FDA/USDA regulations, and GMPs.
- Production Data Management: Oversee input accuracy in Famous, including yields, material usage, and label verification for work orders.
- Cross-Department Communication: Provide updates to Sales, Production, and customers regarding order progress and scheduling changes.
- Audit & Continuous Improvement: Participate in food safety audits, enhance operational efficiency, and promote employee safety culture.
- Adaptability: Willingness to perform other work-related duties as assigned and support team needs as required.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a food processing facility.
- High School diploma or GED.
Competencies
- Bilingual Communication: Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
- Safety & Compliance Expertise: Strong understanding of GMPs and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Famous (preferred).
- Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to perform calculations for production tracking and quality assessments.
- Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Highly developed ability to resolve operational challenges.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for collaboration across teams.
- Efficiency & Performance: Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to foster relationships at various management levels.
- Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work weekends as needed to meet operational demands.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Continually required to speak and listen.
- Ability to work in a cold environment (33º – 40ºF).
