Gerawan Farming and Wawona Packing have merged to create the leading stone fruit producer. Gerawan is a stone fruit industry pioneer with best-in-class farming, packing practices, and proprietary varieties marketed under the Prima® brand. Wawona is a California-based supplier of high-quality stone fruit and a leader in the organic segment of the market. Our plants and offices are located in Reedley, Sanger, Kerman, Cutler, and Fresno, California. The Divisional Controller is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, and the maintenance of a system of accounting records and internal controls. The Divisional Controller supervises accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll departments and is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for preparation of monthly financial reporting and quarterly bank reporting
- Perform a variety of treasury functions, including cash and debt management
- Identify, evaluate and lead key initiatives such as business process redesign, cost savings initiatives and system development projects
- Assist in the implementation of a new ERP system
- Assess, improve and maintain a strong internal control structure
- Act as the first point of contact for all auditors, prepare audit schedules, and drive successful outcomes for all audits
- Review or complete general ledger and bank reconciliations
- Prepare or review statutory filings to local, state and federal agencies timely and accurately
- Maintain a comprehensive set of accounting policies and procedures
- Other duties/projects as required
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required; MBA and CPA candidates preferred
- 5-7 years leading an accounting team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong financial accounting background preferred
- Tax experience is desirable
- Experience in agricultural or agricultural processing is desirable
- Superior demonstrated PC skills (Excel, Access) a must
- Strong ERP software experience required
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills required
