Matrana's Produce Inc. is family-owned and operated in Westwego, LA., and all employees are considered part of the Matrana's family. Other companies may offer similar services, but our services are the best, and come with a personal touch.
Matrana's started out in 1977, when Mr. Matrana built his first fruit stand on Bridge City Avenue just outside the City limits of Westwego, LA. During this time the Matrana's sold fresh watermelon and other fruits and vegetables to all the locals of the Westbank.
In 1985, Mr. Matrana purchased the property at 201 Louisiana Street in Westwego, LA. The building began to form into the warehouse of Matrana's Produce, Inc.
Currently, Matrana's has six (6) coolers which are climate controlled to keep produce fresh and healthy. The company has a receiving area which consists of three bays and a large shipping area consisting of six bays. This allows our shipping department to load our refrigerated trucks so that delivery is on time for our customers.
Matrana's Produce, Inc. has two large generators that run our complete facility in the event of a power outage, hurricanes or any other disasters. This enables us to keep our produce fresh and delivered to our customers. Matrana's Produce does not store any of its products outside of the warehouse. This prevents us from NEVER breaking cold chain.
Our staff is trained in all areas of the warehouse. This allows the company to pull orders in a timely fashion, check for accuracy to ensure orders are correct for shipment.
