We are seeking a Grower Relations Trainee for our West Deptford, NJ location.

Description
Position Overview: As a Grower Relations Trainee, you will play a vital role in supporting and maintaining strong relationships with growers /exporters. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to gain valuable experience in managing grower accounts, ensuring smooth communication between growers and our organization. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to learn about the produce industry and contribute to our company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grower Support: Provide excellent customer service to growers, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with growers by regularly engaging with them through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings, and attending industry events or workshops.
  • Data Management: Assist in maintaining accurate grower data and records, ensuring that all information related to agreements, compliance, and payments is up-to-date and organized.
  • Field Visits: Participate in field visits to growers' farms to observe crop progress.
  • Market Insights: Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to offer relevant insights and recommendations to growers.
  • Logistics Coordination: Assist in coordinating logistics for the containers, transportation, and delivery, ensuring timely and efficient operations.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on grower performance and other relevant metrics to present to the management team.
  • Compliance: Ensure growers adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • A genuine interest in building relationships with growers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to quickly learn new software tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel to growers' locations and attend industry events occasionally.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
