American Cooling, Inc is a family owned and operated produce pre-cooling and cold storage business of 30+ years with over 100 employees. We operate out of Salinas, Gonzales, Yuma, and Imperial with equipment rented throughout the West Coast.
We now have an opening for a Refrigeration Technician Manager to join our team based out of Salinas, CA.
American Industrial Refrigeration Technology (AIRTECH) was established to service and maintain industrial fresh vegetable pre-cooling and refrigeration equipment for American Cooling, Inc. and its partnerships.
Job Description and Requirements:
- Manager must possess knowledge of mechanical, refrigeration and electrical operations of equipment
- Leads technicians who install, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems for a total of six cooler facilities
- Manager routinely works directly with service and install technicians to prioritize and dispatch appropriate personnel
- Communicates daily with owner and cooler managers to ensure job or project status and requirements
- Reviews technicians work, techniques, and safety requirements to ensure quality meets established standards, and makes recommendations to improve quality and productivity
- Identifies training needs of staff and facilitates delivery of a regular training program to ensure that technicians are properly trained on the latest service techniques and safety procedures for equipment and general working conditions
- Complies with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices
- Communicates daily with dispatch reporting on project information, estimated time to complete jobs, labor hours and parts or material used
- Reviews work orders, invoices and time reports for accuracy and maintains minimal accounts receivables
- Based in Salinas CA with occasional travel required to various out of town locations including El Centro, CA and Yuma, AZ (approximately 1-7 days at a time for each site)
- Full time, including Saturdays and occasional Sundays. Rotating “on-call” schedule with other technicians when equipment is “in-season” in Salinas, CA.
- 3+ years of Manager experienced preferred
