General Manager

Job Description: 

California Citrus Cooperative is a premier Orange & Grapefruit packer in the California industry. We are committed to providing our growers with the best possible returns for their fruit, as well as providing our Sunkist customers with quality fruit and service twelve months a year.

We are currently looking for a General Manager to join our team in Riverside, CA.

As the General Manager you are responsible for the functional operations of a citrus packinghouse including field operations, daily production, quality insurance, shipping, and sales. You are also responsible for analyzing and managing facility expenses, operations, and overall performance of the company.  You will oversee all personnel including hiring, training, and employee development along with safety and quality procedures.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture business or equivalent experience.
  • 5 plus years of experience in produce operations.
  • Bilingual Spanish / English.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, team building and coaching skills. Along with the ability to motivate and develop team member skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills. With the ability to balance costs and customer service needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability (strong relational competence).
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.
  • Highly motivated, results oriented, driven.
  • Demonstrates ability to build coalitions.
  • Strong knowledge of MS office platform.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage day to day operations for citrus packing facility.
  • Coordinating daily harvesting with sales along with supervising all packing activities.
  • Conduct weekly production meetings with supervisors.  
  • Oversee and review harvest estimates.
  • Communicating and listening to growers on issues ranging from harvesting costs, packing costs, harvest and fruit quality. 
  • Managing pack days with sales in order to avoid any unnecessary overtime as well as making sure pack crew is completing tasks in most productive way possible.
  • Working day to day with Human Resources on ways management can best serve employee needs or concerns.
  • Review and approve all purchase orders and receipts.
  • Manage day to day facility costs.
