Job Description:
Established melon grower looking for an experienced Grower to join our team in Maricopa County Arizona.
Under direction of the Head Grower, the Grower is responsible for managing all agricultural growing operations for approximately 500 acres. This includes managing a budget and overseeing all day-to-day operations from ground preparation to harvest.

Requirements:
- Agriculture or Agronomy degree a plus
- Experience growing melons on drip irrigation required
- Strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Must have a working knowledge of farm equipment, irrigation, and chemical application in melon operations
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Responsible for ground preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilizing, spraying, cultivating, and harvest operations
- Recommend corrective actions such as removal of plants or remedial treatments as appropriate
- Manage and lead full-time and seasonal employees: resolve labor issues, scheduling
- Responsible for employees using farming equipment correctly and maintaining the equipment in good working order
- Ensure all company, food safety, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to
- Participate in budget creation, analysis and manage location expenses
- Manage location records to include irrigation and chemical applications
- Provide training to employees in areas of safety, food safety, and general work requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
