DNO Produce is looking for a Buyer with a passion for produce and a drive to make a difference. You’ll bring your deep understanding of the produce industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure our customers receive the freshest and most diverse selection of produce available. Not to mention, you'll be part of a company dedicated to providing kids access to fresh fruits through our work with school districts, distributors, and other customers across sixteen states.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage strong relationships with growers, shippers, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality produce at competitive prices.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to make informed buying decisions.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers.
  • Manage inventory levels and monitor product quality to minimize waste and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure that the product assortment meets customer demand.
  • Work with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and efficient inventory management.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of purchases and inventory levels.
  • Continuously evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers to ensure a diverse and reliable supply chain.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Produce Buyer or in a similar role in the produce industry
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines and priorities.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of fresh fruits and vegetables, including seasonality and availability.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and conditions to make informed buying decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in produce procurement.
