FiveStar Gourmet Foods is currently looking for a driven and detail-oriented Demand Planner Buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our food business.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing purchase orders, negotiating with new and existing suppliers, tracking orders, creating, and maintaining inventory, quality assurance, and liaison with inventory team and management. In addition, this position will work with staff across departments to forecast needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.

The Demand Planner Buyer must be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget. Knowledge of sales and marketing principles is advantageous!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Research, select, and purchase quality products and materials
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate best pricing
  • Process requisitions and update management on status of orders
  • Update inventory and ensure stock levels are kept at appropriate levels
  • Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Analyze market trends to apply this knowledge in making insightful buying decisions
  • Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required
  • Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management
  • Ability to travel
  • Any other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Procurement Experience
  • Excellent Negotiating skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Relevant experience in a food manufacturing preferred
