We are one of Hawaii's largest produce wholesalers and our recent acquisition by FreshPoint, a subsidiary of Sysco Corporation, has made us more well-equipped to service our Hawaii Market. We are seeking a Passionate Produce Professional to assist with sourcing the very best in fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the world to service our ever-growing Hawaii client base.
We have an immediate opportunity for a Director of Merchandising (Purchasing) to join our team in Honolulu, HI.
This is a merchandising position responsible for overall performance and management of the merchandising department which includes but is not limited to: end customer order fulfillment, inventory management with intent to maintain lowest possible DSO (day sales outstanding), merchandising activities that enhance profitability (realized equity and earned income overall gross margin), support sales growth, Logistics, assist in achieving warehouse operations efficiencies as it relates to inbound product, management and directing department staff.
The successful candidate will have:
- 4-year degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
- 4 years in purchasing (Produce or foodservice distribution)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, effective written/oral communication skills, strong analytical skills
They will also have a back-ground, especially in logistics, that is involved in bringing produce to our Hawaiian Islands. Our diverse client base includes food service, retailers, wholesalers as well as commissaries. Our hub on the island of Oahu, also supplies product to the Big Island of
Hawaii, Maui and Kauai. Familiarity with our local markets and its logistical challenges is a plus for success in this demanding position.
