Job Description:

Twin River South is a Portland‑based fresh‑fruit marketer, specializing in sourcing, coordinating, and delivering high‑quality berries and produce to regional buyers. We operate as a fast‑moving link between growers, processors, and retail partners (domestic and international), managing marketing, procurement, logistics, quality assurance, and customer service to ensure reliable, on‑time product flow throughout the entire year.

Position Summary:
We’re looking to add a Financial Controller who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is ready to take full ownership of the accounting function. This person should be a true self-starter – someone energized by solving complex problems, strengthening processes, and building structure as we scale.
The Ideal candidate is analytical, motivated, and adaptable, with the ability to identify weaknesses, propose improvements, and implement new procedures that elevate the finance function. As a rapidly growing company, it’s essential that this person can think critically, move quickly, and evolve with the business.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the CFO’s primary strategic and operational partner, providing high‑quality financial insight and support
  • Own all financial reporting, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and packets, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all deliverables
  • Support the CFO in preparing quarterly board presentations, including analysis, narrative development, and data visualization
  • Play a central role in forecasting, financial modeling, and the annual budgeting process, helping drive data‑informed decision‑making across the organization
  • Oversee quarterly and annual tax filings, coordinating closely with the external CPA firm to ensure timely and compliant submissions
  • Manage the annual CPA financial statement review process, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring all schedules, support, and documentation are complete and accurate
  • Conduct ad‑hoc financial analyses, data reporting, and special projects to support leadership and operational teams
  • Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes, identifying gaps and implementing improvements as the company scales
  • Partner cross‑functionally with operations and leadership to ensure financial alignment, support business initiatives, and improve workflow efficiency
  • Maintain and enhance accounting systems and tools, ensuring data integrity and supporting automation where possible

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the entire Office suite
  • Minimum 5 years of professional, progressive accounting experience
  • Previous experience as a Controller preferred, but not required
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and complex accounting transactions
  • An extremely positive attitude
