The Grower Accounting Manager is responsible for effective communication with Farm Management and Grower Partners, along with the daily/weekly/monthly administration of grower information, processing of grower contracts, paperwork and its flow as it relates to grower accounting. Supports Accounting and Finance objectives, while constantly working towards improving processes and procedures. Administers all accounting related to grower clients. Processes and prepares accurate operational financial information for grower clients within predetermined deadlines
- Basic computer fluency e.g. Excel, Word, along with related work experience using produce accounting software (Shippers Office, Famous, etc.)
- Citrus industry and packing house familiarity a plus
- Spanish language proficiency preferred, but not required
- Must be capable of working a flexible schedule as workload requires
- Ability to provide excellent communication and analytical skills
- ability to write reports, and communicate by email as needed
- Must be able to work as part of a team to complete all weekly and monthly accounting entries as they related to the business unit
- Valid driver’s license required
- This position requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment on significant matters
- Collecting and managing all grower contracts, (e.g. renewal, relaying cost of charges, etc)
- Ensuring proper distribution of packouts and other routine reporting
- Management of Grower Accounting and Lot Accounting Reports including handling of all A/P communication with vendors/growers. Including assessing charges, lot reconciliation and lot closures
- Financial forecasting for individual growers
- Ensures financial information for our grower clients is prepared in a timely and accurate fashion
- Provides operation accounting support to internal departments, customers and grower clients relating to produce business units. Investigates and resolves related problems in a timely manner
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
