We are currently looking for a Field Representative/Growers Relations to contribute to the growth and continued success of our business in Ventura, CA.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and team player with a strong work ethic. We're looking for individuals who are highly motivated to jump right in and help our growing organization. The best candidates will be personable and outgoing individuals who can bring a positive attitude to our busy workplace every day.
- Produce and/or Agriculture industry knowledge
- Experience in Agriculture (Avocado Experience a plus)
- Knowledge of Food Safety and GAP (Good Agriculture Practices) a plus
- Possess a proven ability to recognize opportunities for business expansion within key growers
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems
- Self-starter who has the passion and determination to work hard and meet or exceed goals
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within general company guidelines
- High-energy and passionate about agriculture
- Excellent customer service skills and an ability to adapt to different customer types
- High degree of collaboration within the team
- Strong organizational skills with good time management
- Computer proficient
- Good driving record, daily travel to ranches looking at crops & meeting with growers
- Maintain and service existing growers in Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo Counties
- Meet with growers and establish relationships to understand their business and needs
- Communicate with growers on market conditions and harvest strategies
- Communicate with management on projected volume and grower needs
- Seek out and develop new growers
- Work collaboratively with Giumarra Team to ensure optimal customer service and support
- Strictly follow all company policies including food safety and GAP regulations
