Job Description:
A prosperous wholesale seller of domestic and imported produce, fruits and vegetables located in the
Hunts Point Produce Terminal Market is seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee the buying and
general operations. This is a great opportunity for a passionate individual, who understands and has
experience in the inner workings of a successful growing wholesale business operation.
Compensation/Salary:
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Requirements:
- 8 to 10 years experience purchasing domestic and imported produce, fruits and vegetables.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Work with and effectively communicate with senior management concerning all operational issues.
- Provide accurate and timely sales reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Promote a positive customer service shopping experience by coaching and training the sales force.
- Provide clear guidance as needed to subordinates and associates in planning and executing proper procedural strategies to meet Company goals and mission.
- Ensure the platforms have an organized, stocked and well-executed display with proper signing of all merchandise.
- Assist with loss prevention such as theft, spoilage, cash control procedures, price accuracy and control of inventory, including proper logging and reporting of such matters on a daily basis.
- React & direct in-house adjustments to operational procedures as needed.
- Direct and ensure compliance with all company policies and federal and state laws.
- Assists in identifying high performing associates for future promotion opportunities.
- Have verifiable references and work clearance.
Skills:
Strong managerial and communication skills are required to ensure that operational procedures are
being followed, inventory is controlled, and the highest quality produce is being purchased at the most
competitive prices.
