Job Description: 

Our Company:
PlantTape is an automated transplanting system aimed at reducing costs and labor for vegetable growers. The PlantTape process is built around a biodegradable tape that holds seeds and seedlings. The tape facilitates ease of sowing, efficient nursery operations and automated transplanting. With one of the most progressive and innovative automated transplanters on the market, PlantTape now has over 100 machines operating globally.

The Role:
We are seeking an employee to manage various new and ongoing projects to help develop and improve PlantTape’s processes and products. This employee will be required to work collaboratively across multiple departments in order to accurately and effectively execute projects. They will have direct communication with the sales, equipment and operations departments. It is important to be able to see the big picture, as this employee will need to envision and execute projects from start to finish.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Execute trials in the sowing line, greenhouse and field
  • Lead key projects to support business goals
  • Continually work to improve processes and workflow
  • Develop road maps and plans for ongoing and future projects as they develop
  • Report weekly on progress
  • Collaborate with PlantTape salespeople, consultants and customers for projects
  • Produce and distribute finalized reports for all projects
  • Practice good organizational skills and time management
  • Take initiative to identify new projects and lead open projects to completion
  • Ability to work independently
  • Support operations, sales and equipment departments as necessary
  • Have a complete understanding of the PlantTape system to support quality assurance of the PlantTape product
  • Capacity to work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to work in outdoor and open field conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related work experience
  • Some travel and afterhours work required.
  • Ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
