The Role: Produce Quality Control Inspector

Location: Yakima, WA (In-Person)

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced professional to be our eyes and ears in the field. You will be responsible for monitoring the quality of perishable products—specifically Apples, Pears, and Cherries—while working collaboratively with suppliers and our buying team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to various farming operations to conduct on-site inspections.
  • Perform quality control duties to ensure all products meet our rigorous standards.
  • Maintain effective two-way communication with stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Technical Savvy: Ability to write routine reports, take high-quality photos, and send correspondence using our in-house platform.
  • Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of the produce world; knowledge of the USDA grading system is a significant plus.
  • Interpersonal Excellence: A solid reputation in the industry with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Communication & Logic: Exemplary listening skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility: A willingness to work full-time, including some weekend and night hours, and travel during peak seasons throughout the year.
