Pure Pacific Organics, LLC., is one of the best recognized leafy green processors, marketers and distributors of high-quality fresh and fresh-cut vegetables, as well as a leading producer and distributor of produce in the USA. Production runs continuously all year round operating in Gonzales, California. Pure Pacific Organic is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join and lead our maintenance team.
This position is responsible for providing direction and effective leadership to the maintenance department through goal setting and timely feedback; supporting the manufacturing operation, preventive maintenance program, as well as leading continuous improvement efforts within the maintenance and manufacturing areas. Position is year-round, and work schedule is according to company’s needs. (Days and/or Nights).
- 5+ years maintenance supervisory experience within an automated manufacturing environment
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and control systems • Install and setup equipment (variable frequency drives, magnetic flow meters, sensors etc.) using vendor’s manuals and specifications
- Ability to read/interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for team members
- Skilled in reading and understanding schematics
- Knowledge of repair, maintenance and installation techniques
- Knowledge of large integral engines and compressors
- Experience working with bagger, scales, sorters, and associated processing equipment
- Ability to work in wet and cold environment and occasional lift, bend and twist
- Demonstrate desire for achieving excellence in product quality and reliability
- Strong interpersonal, written, communication, organizational and analytical skills
- Leadership skills that build team confidence and respect in a creative and effective manner
- Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline oriented environment
- Computer Proficient – Outlook, MS WORD and MS Excel application minimum
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Timely and effective communication with onsite management team
- Provide leadership to Maintenance team ensuring safe and efficient operations
- Manage capital projects and timelines from start to finish and assist in development of annual plant budget
- Monitor/prioritize maintenance budget ensuring timely repairs at best value
- Develop opportunities to reduce costs or improve performance through effective capital planning and/or work flow redesign
- Oversee and participate in ongoing training programs for team members and key employees
- Provide support and coordinate work schedules with other departments in order to maintain a 24 hour work-flow operation
- Recognize/repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures seeking external contractors only when absolutely necessary
- Correct equipment performance issues to assure minimal production downtime
- Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul machinery as needed • Manage and schedule preventative maintenance and service recordkeeping
- Install, replace, maintain, and repair processing and refrigeration equipment or damaged parts according to specifications
- Read gauges and instruments and adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls and pumps to control level of fluid pressure and distribution in systems
- Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical, mechanical, digital and pneumatic controls
- Adherence to the purchase order process
- Proper tool management and control
