We are seeking a Harvest Supervisor to join our team in King City, California.

  • Valid driver’s license and must be insurable through company vehicle program.
  • Ability to relocate to Yuma during winter months.
  • Ability to communicate orally (English & Spanish).
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
    • Walk, kneel, bend, lift and carry
    • Lift up to 35 pounds
    • Stoop and twist at the waist
    • Have the stamina for a vigorous physical workload over 10-hour shifts
    • Work in nighttime conditions
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Performs harvest crew supervision and other duties on company ranches under the direction of the Harvest Manager and other company managers.
  • Acknowledges and obeys all company safety and food safety rules and regulations, at all times working in a safe and legal manner. Ensures that workers are wearing all required personal protective equipment and all required food safety equipment.
  • Arrives at the assigned workplace on time and in good mental and physical condition, directs and participates in and monitoring daily exercise sessions. Teaches and attends periodic tailgate training meetings and other company training as directed.
  • Oversees the harvest activities and harvest personnel.
  • Responsible for a quality harvest result performed in a timely manner. Necessary time for each block harvested various with commodity and density. Is responsible for the crew maintaining Food Safety practices within company guidelines and industry standards.
  • Establishes clear communication with all harvest personnel through Foremen to ensure accuracy, timely completion and quality of work performed.
  • Relays order information from the Harvest Manager to the Harvest Foreman including ranch and block, commodity, quantity, customer and type of tote or container, time of harvest and other pertinent information.
  • Ensures that the Harvest Foremen communicate with machine and tractor operators and the entire crew the ranch and block location and start time. Verifies that the Foreman has communicated with yard workers the arrangement of product going into refrigerated trailers, giving them time to prepare the necessary materials needed for the night’s harvest.
  • Adjusts the duties of the crew relative to the commodity and the customer for whom it is cut, preparing in advance for the nights work.
  • Takes responsibility for the safety of all harvest workers, monitoring the crews for safe and efficient work practices. Reports all injuries and accidents immediately to the Harvest Manager and HR Director. Provides First Aid and/or CPR if necessary.
  • Oversees through the Harvest Foremen progressive discipline steps when necessary to correct workers who violate company rules, policies and safety regulations.
  • Is responsible for the quality of the product delivered to customers. Relays concerns and adverse conditions or results to the Harvest Manager and other company officials as necessary.
  • Communicates with the Transportation Manager/Dispatcher the needed trips of reefers to the various locations. Verifies that product is delivered in a timely fashion.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Harvest crews, machine and tractor operators, yard workers.
