Research & Development Coordinator

The Role: The R&D Coordinator – Coast will work directly with R&D breeders and staff to support and execute all aspects of the Coast trial program. This role plays a critical part in ensuring trials are accurately executed, monitored, and reported, while supporting selection, greenhouse operations, and overall trial success.

Location(s): Salinas, CA

Areas of Responsibility:

• Work directly with the breeding team to support R&D trial objectives
• Execute and manage the Coast trial program
• Create, computerize, and distribute all trial maps
• Monitor trial progression, maturity, and overall performance
• Collect, analyze, and report trial data and observations
• Assist with trial selection activities
• Dig and transport all selections as needed
• Monitor greenhouse operations and identify operational needs
• Provide support to other departments as required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in agriculture or a related field (e.g., Crop Science), or 2–3+ years of relevant field experience
• (A combination of education and experience will be considered)
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve issues professionally and efficiently
• Proven ability to evaluate and analyze data accurately and consistently
• High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to manage a variable work schedule based on crop and trial needs
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Clean DMV driving record
