We are a large California agricultural producer with offices in Salinas California, Heber California and opening on January 2023 in Twin Falls Idaho searching for a self-directed, experienced Corporate Controller. The Corporate Controller will undertake all aspects of the general accounting with respect to the balance sheet and income statement, monthly financial reporting, as well as the development and oversight of internal control policies and procedures. Oversee the month-end financial close of all companies and reporting processes including but not limited to, financial planning and analysis and budget comparisons, reconciling various reports and financial data, journal entries, and supervising accounting staff. Requires thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, extensive Excel and general ledger systems knowledge, Famous software knowledge a plus, ability to perform in a fast paced high pressure environment and manage long distance functions and personnel, direct work of accounting staff to successfully meet financial deadlines, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage accounting and finance department, develop policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure the integrity of the financial results including the planning, budgeting and reporting of operations. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for ensuring the development of a scalable infrastructure to support a dynamic growing company.
Supervise accounting and finance staff and all aspects of accounting, including financial planning and analysis, fixed assets, general accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable. The Corporate Controller will be responsible to ensure that all polices, controls and process improvement activities are successfully completed to support operational requirements.
Partner with operations to ensure accurate and effective internal controls, accounting processes, systems and procedures. The Corporate Controller should have an operations focus, tailoring financial reporting to support business leadership’s decision making. Financial information and reports should be relevant and timely.
Partner with CFO for financial and strategic planning and audits.
Provide analytical and well documented reports for the leadership team.
Participate in the development of and support of the company’s strategic plans.
Prepare departmental and consolidated financial analysis and reports for presentation to both internal and external stakeholders in both GAAP and non-GAAP formats.
Present financial information in “dashboard” format to leadership team.
Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and provide information to external auditors as needed
or directed by CFO.
Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning tasks to employees and confirming satisfactory work
results.
Maintain financial staff through recruiting, interviewing, orienting, and training new hires.
Maintain financial staff job results through coaching, counseling and disciplining employees. Participate in career planning with financial staff and monitor and appraise performance results annually and as issues arise.
Maintain strict confidentiality on company’s financial data and other confidential and proprietary information.
Maintain up-to-date professional and technical knowledge
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics or equivalent is required. CMA or MBA preferred.
CPA Public account role in audit position preferred.
5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience in a senior role, preferred in a Controller position.
Substantial accounting and finance knowledge and prior experience in a high volume perishable food, agricultural or manufacturing company is desired.
Travel required to all locations of the company.
