We are currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Los Angeles, CA.

The Warehouse Supervisor functions in the role of crew manager and is responsible for the efficient building, staging and shipping of orders, inbound receiving.  Responsibilities include assigning the work of the crew, management of the crew's overtime, crew performance, and on-time delivery fulfillment. The leader must ensure that the crew members perform their job skillfully, and efficiently, and that assigned work progresses on schedule. The Warehouse Supervisor is also responsible for legal compliance, occupational safety and food safety practices of all crew members.

Compensation/Salary: 
$65k / year
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction levels through excellence in employee management, dispatching, receiving, and quality assurance.
  • Act as a liaison between office staff, dock staff, upper management, drivers, customers, etc.
  • Proactive communication with salespeople/buyers/setup crews regarding outbound orders.
  • Communicate employee expectations, train, and interact with personnel to answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Assist Floor Manager in scheduling according to staffing needs and allocating workload fairly in a way that best utilizes employees. 
  • Measure and address the effectiveness of employee performance and warehouse activities.
  • Work with management to observe disciplinary issues, attendance, and performance of direct reports.
  • Organize and control cooler storage to ensure accuracy of inventory and shipments.
  • Identify areas of operations that need development and integrate innovative changes to maximize efficiency and reduce department’s operational costs.
  • Complete shift start/end checklists and special assignments in a timely manner.
  • Communicate efficiently with the Floor Manager identifying issues of safety, efficiency interruptions, and other issues via email or text.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safe operation of the Warehouse and equipment including trash disposal of pallet materials, strapping, etc. during entire shift.
  • Ensure employee safety, Food Safety & Quality (FSQ), and efficiency goals are met by enforcing the company’s food defense and security policies.
  • Compliance with all company-wide, OSHA, local, state, and federal rules and regulations, policies and procedures, Local 630 Union regulations and Code of Conduct standards.
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 8th grade education; or up to one-year related experience or training.
  • Ability to read in English, to identify all language describing the product listed on the RF device for orders, and accurate number recognition. 
  • Ability to print and speak in English clearly.  Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Basic math skills - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to 1000’s. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. 
  • Ability to use good judgement and multi-task without losing focus on primary objectives. 
  • Electric pallet jack certified or knowledge of operation (training  provided).
  • Forklift certified or knowledge of operation (training provided).
  • ProducePro and Microsoft Office programs  proficiency.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrated initiative, good judgement, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with all.
  • Maintain a willingness to improve personal and company performance.
