Job Description: 

Vivid Produce is a growing produce brokering company specializing in citrus.

We are seeking a Fieldman responsible for managing outside grower relations and diligently working to recruit new growers for our Dinuba, CA location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Basic knowledge of the production cycle for citrus commodities.
  • Ability to recruit new growers or add acres from existing growers.
  • Ability to work cohesively with outside growers, ranch managers and Warehouse/Office personnel in all phases of the growing, harvesting, storing and packing.
  • Willingness to walk orchard blocks.
  • Willingness to drive to ranches across central California.
  • Maintain grower relations with the grower base.
  • Work with growers to develop annual harvest plans.
  • Coordinate Delivery of bins to growers for harvest.
  • Work with warehouse receiving and grower accounting and communicate accurate information to and from growers.
  • Communicate delivery and storage information to warehouse management.
  • Collect detailed crop estimates and communicate timely with warehouse management.
  • Work with Growers to evaluate fruit quality and maturity to determine harvest timing and storage needs.
  • Ability to carry out a weekly schedule unsupervised and exhibit strong time management.
  • Attend classes and seminars to remain current with horticultural and technical advancements in the citrus industry.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 3 or more years of experience of citrus Growing or Field work is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or Crop Science and/or experience in farming preferred. 
  • Computer Skills – Excel, Word, Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • Must be able to work independently, manage their own schedule responsibly and without close supervision, and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to work across departmental lines.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Spanish speaking ability is preferred.
  • Work a 40-hour work week, Monday through Saturday. Must be flexible and able to work additional hours as needed, particularly during the harvest period of late October – June, which will include weekend work.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license as travel will be required.
