The Global Packaging Manager will provide leadership and work flow expertise to optimize packaging and procedures to create efficiencies, ensure accuracy and manage costs. This position will manage processing, packaging, global specifications, supply oversight, inventory control, quality control and sales logistics. This position will collaborate extensively with all cross-functioning teams within the supply chain to ensure timely completion of all new and existing packaging. The manager will utilize best practices to assure that product and package integrity is maintained throughout our distribution environment. He or she will ensure that deadlines and deliverables are consistently met and proactively communicate as changes arise.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in food industry or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience preferably within a consumer-packaged goods environment.
  • Proactive and able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energetic work environment.
  • Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Analytical capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate groups and individuals to work effectively in a team environment to meet organizational goals for a growing company.
  • Able to think creatively and strategically to successfully negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally.
  • Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines.
  • Able to understand and conduct cost analysis.
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel and Power Point).
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is required.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% both domestic and international.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive but able to balance with the company’s preference and priorities.
  • Strong ability to work independently and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage and track newly developed dry supplies across Mission’s distribution network.
  • Cross check and verify all regulations for packaging (Organics, COO, Nutrition).
  • Manage packaging projects after facilitation by the PID process.
  • Work with certifying bodies to insure approval and accuracy of certification use.
  • Verify all certifications and requirements are met based on spec, regulation and customer requests.
  • Compare and verify all new or re-ordered packaging is accurate to master spec.
  • Perform random spec verifications for quality assurance of all packaging.
  • Work with all cross-functioning teams to standardize specs globally, implement packaging projects including, but not limited to purchasing, quality assurance, operations, compliance, marketing, food safety, and inventory.
  • Work with customer specific staff pertaining to packaging development and changes.
  • Work with co-packers on packaging integration, inventory management, spec verification and manufactures to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Manage and update global label registry.
