As our Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a key role in maximizing equipment uptime, ensuring food safety compliance, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and cost-effective facility. You’ll oversee everything from mechanical systems and control wiring to refrigeration and preventative maintenance — all while leading a skilled team and fostering a culture of accountability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance for facility equipment and infrastructure.
  • Lead a structured preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Manage parts inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and timely supply of critical components.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, minor electrical, and control wiring issues across packaging and production lines.
  • Coordinate and supervise internal technicians and third-party service providers.
  • Enforce strict adherence to GMPs, SQF, OSHA, PPE, hygiene, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance schedules, equipment logs, and compliance reports.
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign daily maintenance tasks; ensure timely completion of all work orders.
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians; build a strong, safety-focused team.
  • Collaborate with leadership on capital projects, facility upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support refrigeration and HVAC systems where applicable.
  • Ensure all facility and equipment operations comply with food safety and environmental standards.

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in food manufacturing, produce, or cold storage environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong mechanical and equipment knowledge; hands-on experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with control wiring, basic electrical, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with refrigeration and/or HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage maintenance inventory, sourcing, and vendor negotiations.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing or managing a preventative maintenance program.
  • Proficient in CMMS or maintenance tracking systems (preferred).
  • Ability to work in cold environments (34–55°F) and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Education & Experience Requirements:
Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field required (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience).
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, especially in Engineering, Facilities Management, or Operations Management.
  • Technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration, PLC controls, electrical systems) are a strong plus.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred).
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or management role, leading a maintenance or facilities team.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and food processing equipment.
  • Experience with control wiring, basic electrical systems, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to refrigeration systems, compressors, and chillers (a plus).
  • Prior experience managing preventative maintenance schedules and vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with CMMS or similar maintenance tracking software.
  • Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, SQF, and food safety compliance standards.
