Job Description:
Castle Rock Vineyards is a well-established farming company specializing in table grapes and headquartered in Delano.
We are looking for a Controller to lead our accounting team.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Controller will direct all aspects of the accounting function, as well as other administrative functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directs the accounting activities of the Company across multiple business entities.

Develops and maintains a system of internal controls.

Administers a cost accounting system which allocates costs appropriately among the Company’s lines of business.

Administers the Company’s financial accounting and management reporting system.

Work with the General Manager to develop ad-hoc analyses and enhance financial reporting tools.

Oversees administration of 401K, health insurance and liability insurance plans.

Coordinates the work of third-party tax and audit partners.

Oversees administration of general business practices, including IT, legal and regulatory compliance.

Expert level Excel for Accounting and Financial Modeling.

Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.

Knowledge of general and cost accounting systems.

Ability to establish and accomplish objectives within an entrepreneurial environment.

Effective management skills to lead and motivate a trained accounting staff.

Financial systems savvy to administer an integrated general ledger system.

Understanding of Ag accounting, with knowledge of Ag accounting software “Famous” preferred.

Bilingual English-Spanish a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 10 years of experience.

Four-year college degree in accounting.

CPA license preferred.

Expert level Excel skills a plus.

$180,000 - $250,000 DOE
