Under the general supervision of the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor is quick-thinking, flexible, and able to juggle multiple priorities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail. This is a demanding and fast paced supervisory position that requires a proactive and positive thinker who is able to exercise good judgment, effective communication, and initiative.
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure consistent application and supervision of QC standards and processes while working closely with the Sales and Operations teams to assure correct classification for rotation and consequent allocation purposes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works as a member of Pacific Trellis Quality Control team and supervises QC employees and 3rd Party Inspection Services to note, record, and report the attributes of our products.
- Validates Inbound reports and scores.
- Supervises contracted or Grower/Shipper QC inspectors and conducts and assists in inspections.
- Supervision of the Inbound inspections process, from planning and data entry on the website, to uploading QC grades to Smart Term, reviewing and/or approving reports, and providing early alerts to the rest of the team in case of any deviations. Manage and supervise hold orders.
- Generate reports that support product-related issues in order to inform the growers and Category teams.
- Early alerts in case of any temperature issues during transit that could result in a claim.
- Works with Transportation, Operations, & Cold Storage facilities to investigate and resolve inbound related problems accurately and quickly.
- Provides support and backup to other departments to accomplish related tasks as needed.
- Provides timely and friendly customer service.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience is likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
- Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent degree in Agriculture or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution, in a related field or equivalent years of experience.
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish strongly preferred. English is required.
- Minimum 2 years of direct or related experience in quality inspection, packing and program controls in the produce industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of USDA Grade Standards for Fresh Fruits.
- Working knowledge of Food Safety requirements, including FSMA and 3rd-party food safety audits.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
