Under the general supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance (“QA”) Supervisor is a quick-thinking, flexible, and able to organize multiple priorities with a strong emphasis on organization and unwavering attention to detail. This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires a proactive and positive thinker who can exercise good judgment, effective communication, and initiative.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee the inspection and evaluation of fresh fruit to ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and food safety regulations. Also, works closely with Category Teams, Operations, and Transportation.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates 3rd Party Inspection Services and validates QA reports.
- Coordinates Reinspection’s, Rejections and Outbound. Coordinates Outside purchases with Quality Control Manager when needed.
- Coordinates Promo-shots.
- Coordinates Customer and Shows samples.
- Daily review of outbound orders followed by QA approval before proceeding with customer loading.
- Monitors the rotation (FIFO), condition, and quality of products in inventory and actively report any issues.
- Documents and enter information (e.g., product quality, inventory, re-pack, and reconditioning activities) into computer system files.
- Produces computer generated inspection reports and related quality control reports for all inspections.
- Communicates with Category Team, Sales, Transportation, Operations, & Cold Storage facilities to investigate and resolve problems accurately and quickly.
- Provides support and backup to other departments to accomplish related tasks as needed.
- Provides timely and friendly customer service.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Any combination of education and experience is likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
- BA or equivalent degree from an accredited institution, in a related field or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum 2 years of direct or related experience in quality control, expediting, bird-dog inspections, cold-storage operations or similar in the produce industry is highly preferred.
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred.
