Job Description: 

The mission for this position is to oversee and coordinate various manufacturing functions within a complex food processing facility. Responsibilities also include driving maximum yield, efficiency and productivity results with the production team and delivering best quality product to customers. 

The qualified candidate will be an independent leader capable of making business decisions, able to empower, train and motivate staff, lead change and execute on strategic decisions.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, engineering, business, manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ progressive managerial experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Computer skills including MS Office programs.
  • Experience with food processing, FDA/USDA regulations, SQF standards preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee best in class food processing operation focusing on results – quality, throughput, yield and optimum utilization of human resources and equipment.
  • Partner with Procurement, QA and Maintenance to ensure compliance with quality and sanitation policies, procedures and systems to include HACCP and GMPs.
  • Manage production schedule to achieve plant performance optimization and timely customer order fulfillment.
  • Develop an effective safety culture that proactively deals with safety risk in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all FDA, OSHA, local regulatory agencies, and auditing requirements.
  • Actively participate in work force planning, hiring, training and talent development to foster a high performing team.
  • Evaluate current operations and implement changes in processes and procedures for continuous improvement in safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Recommend and provide justification for capital expenditures for further enhancement of production capabilities.
  • Review and ensure full compliance with production documentation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • During absence, this position serves as coverage for the following position: VP of Operations
