We are currently in search of a Sanitation Manager supporting our processing facility in Pelion, SC.
The Sanitation Manager will monitor and supervise the cleaning of the plant production equipment and facility to meet food safety, customer quality and worker safety requirements. The position will ensure employees follow company policies and procedures, ensure that sanitation, quality and department efficiencies are maintained at or above standards, and support the commitment and continual improvement to Food Safety and Quality programs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's Degree required, focus in Food/ Science/ Microbiology or related fields is a plus.
- 3+ years' supervisory and sanitation experience in a food processing facility; preferably a vegetable processing facility.
- Understand and have knowledge of chemicals used in the cleaning process; understand the manufacturing process and equipment parts/systems in order to ensure proper sanitization of equipment and efficient line start-ups.
- Understand and have knowledge of GMP, FDA, PMO, HACCP, and OSHA requirements.
- Other qualifications include: strong analytical ability, consistent problem solving skills, project management ability, strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, team oriented, accurate and thorough, ethical, self-motivated, professional, able to consistently be at work and on time, maintains confidentiality, able to follow-through, and has strong attention to detail.
- Bilingual a plus English/Spanish.
Working Conditions:
- Heavy forklift traffic.
- Concrete flooring, often wet.
- Some cold air areas (36-40 degrees).
- Noise Level: High • May be required to crouch.
- Required to regularly sit, stand, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- Must be able to walk frequently on flat terrain.

- No heating or air conditioning.
- Motivate, train, and instruct technicians in cleaning production equipment and the facility. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Ensure proper staffing is available to efficiently conduct sanitation activities.
- Maintain a good working relationship with employees through strong interpersonal and oral communications, teamwork, counseling, and fair and consistent enforcement of company policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily safety, sanitation, and GMP compliance inspections.
- Maintain Master Sanitation schedules and required quality assurance documentation.
- Support QA Manager with sanitation related budget elements, food safety and quality program development, and facility improvement recommendations.
- Identify and recommend expenditures in support of sanitation and food safety.
- Report food safety issues to immediate supervisor.
