JOB FILLED - Customer Service Representative

Job Description: 

Croda is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative for our Integrated Coating and Seed Technology (INCOTEC) business in our Salinas, CA manufacturing facility. The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for being the point of contact between a customer and INCOTEC, to ensure that customer orders are promptly and efficiently processed through to fulfillment in accordance, as far as possible, with customers’ requests.

Requirements: 
  • High school diploma required. A two- or four-year college degree in any discipline is preferred.
  • 5 plus years experience in Customer Service is required, preferrably with employee supervision experience.
  • Ability to learn SAP and Movex is required.
  • Must have oral and written proficiency in the English language.
  • Strong job instruction and communication skills
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and strong decision making abilities.
  • Competent using MS Office software and SAP experience is preferable.
  • Analytical approach with strong detail focus
  • Essential to success are: good communication skills, self-starting capabilities, strong work ethic, strong organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Full understanding of customer service department processes
  • Backup to other Customer Service Reps when required
  • Process suitabilites and carry-over germ testing; follow all ISO procedures and work instructions. This includes setting up suitability and carry-overs, notifying the customer of scheduled completion dates for each test, and then invoicing if/when required.
  • Generate and distribute open order report, when needed
  • Ability to self-motivate in daily tasks
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks. Work within always-changing priorities.
  • May be required to work in other areas of INCOTEC, as needed
  • Prompt follow up with all customers (internal and external)
  • Excellent phone and e-mail skills
  • Visit with local customers
  • Coordinate of with Shipping & Receiving Department to process customer orders and documents
  • Make sure all dispatching and invoicing is done daily
  • Verify all germ reports sent to customers daily
  • Keep all filing up to date
  • Participate in the training of new employees or employees from other departments
  • Ensure all orders are accurately entered in Movex and progressed
  • Provide timely and accurate order information to customers
  • Maintain compliance with INCOTEC/Croda credit control policy
  • Politely but firmly inform customers of any credit or account issues that are preventing acceptance or progression of an order
  • Keep customers informed of any changes in the timing of their orders 
  • Promptly address customer complaints
  • Provide reports/information as required by management
  • Assist with the review, investigation and solution for customer concerns
