JOB FILLED - Business Analyst

Job Description: 

The individual will be responsible for market research, in depth market analysis of product opportunities, and developing business assumptions for maximizing value creation and sharing. The Analyst will also help prepare detailed, quality briefing materials for business case development and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a diverse understanding of the various agricultural biotechnology market segments and ag biotech-based production systems and methodologies and have the capacity to perform commercial assessment, including market viability, customer targeting, and business case development.  This position will be based in Davis, CA or Radford, VA.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Collect and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data on products, customers, competitors, suppliers and regulatory data
  • Identify and provide key assumptions and input to assist in developing financial models based on business scenarios
  • Communicate findings from analyses to internal team members
  • Support all aspects of business development and project execution of programs in the Ag Bio Division
  • Track key industry trends, including shift in customer needs, competitor activities, regulatory trends, policy, and pricing
  • Assist in drafting proposals, contracts, and marketing content
  • Support colleagues in building strategic partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Monitor biotechnology industry trends
  • Other duties as assigned        
Education: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
  • Investment banking, management consulting or internship experience in this field, a plus
  • Knowledgeable of agriculture and biotechnology, preference given for experience with fruit and vegetable markets
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Blend of scientific and business academic coursework preferred
