Vertical Roots is revolutionizing the way communities grow, distribute, and consume food. We utilize retired shipping containers to create indoor, fully automated, hydroponic farms that are equipped with LED lighting and soil-less systems. Our climate-controlled environment allows us to deliver fresh, chemical-free leafy greens year-round while greatly reducing water, energy, and contamination risks. In fact, our farms use 98% less water than traditional farming methods.
We focus on a variety of leafy greens including Red Oak, Green Oak, Bibb, Romaine, Red Butter and Arugula as our main products. Our produce is featured on menus in over 100 restaurants around the southeast and we can be found in most major grocery stores including Harris Teeter, Publix, and Whole Foods. We're an active part of the community through ongoing donations to local food banks and farms, building local partnerships, and offering sustainable jobs for local farmers.
