Accountable for and coordinates all business operations within the bakery. Responsibilities include directing and supervising the manufacturing, engineering, safety, sanitation, shipping and receiving functions. This individual also has a responsibility to ensure and maintain a food safe environment through compliance to all requirements of programs/policies for Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, Quality, Workplace Safety, IPM, OSHA, Environmental, and as may require by Plant, Company, Local, State and Federal mandates or programs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Master’s Degree preferred. AIB certification preferred. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
- Ten (10) or more years of hands-on management experience and direct manufacturing experience. Extensive knowledge of bakery operations/processing/formulations is preferred. Strong technical skills and working knowledge of bakery equipment. Knowledge of safety related issues including compliance with State, Federal and Local regulations. Demonstrated experience in building a strong management team. Computer Literate.

- Ensures that Product Quality is an absolute priority by using plant teams, and outside resources.
- Coordinates and directs the manufacturing activities of bakery operations to ensure that all financial and market area initiatives are met.
- Directs production management to provide for the delivery of fresh products on a timely basis. Assures that all products meet company quality standards. Provides for receipt and storage of raw materials. Assures that sanitation and maintenance procedures are developed and adhered to.
- Develops, coordinates and monitors a reporting control system in order to ensure that all manufacturing and administrative efforts are working toward the attainment of market area goals and objectives and that no inappropriate risks are assumed.
- Develops and implements short and long range cost reduction programs, labor efficiency improvements, and prepares studies and cost justification.
- Develops and administers the Capital Expenditure program.
- Supervises, trains and coaches manufacturing management to include responsibility for personnel and labor issues throughout the plant.
- Key contact position at plant for policies, strategic initiatives, and issue resolution.
- Other duties as assigned.
