The Chief Operating Officer of Capitol City Produce (CCP) provides strategic leadership, management, and direction to meet and exceed the company objectives for quality, safety, performance, growth and profitability. This includes the management, hiring, monitoring, training, motivating, evaluation and oversight of the Operations, Sales & Marketing departments of the organization. This position will report directly to the CEO. The primary goals for the Chief Operating officer are to:

- Develop in-depth knowledge of all operational processes and be able to incorporate best practices
- Met and exceed operational goals and work strategies targeting effectiveness and long-term business success
- Increase operational efficiency within the organization
- Lead, develop, and engage managers; maximizing growth and profits through the CCP team
- Make a substantial contribution to the overall success of the company

Direct managerial responsibility for operational department heads:
- Shipping/Receiving
- Warehouse
- Inventory Control
- Quality Assurance
- Procurement
- Direct managerial responsibility for the Sales & Marketing function of the business
- Direct the strategic planning process; ensuring the strategies and plan of actions accurately support the goals and are carried out as planned; on time and on budget
- Evaluation and improvement of work processes and standards
- Identify needs and assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Foster open channels of communication, resolve problems, and promote teamwork
- Identify opportunities for new and improved sources of revenue generation
- Lead the application of HR processes and systems in assigned areas including: reporting, staffing, salaries and bonuses, job performance, development and retention of personnel
- Lead the management of team and individual performance by: monitoring performance, rewarding and recognizing, mentoring, personnel development and conducting performance appraisals
- Provide oversight of the annual budget process to ensure appropriate use of expenditures
- Lead the development of a positive work environment and culture that fosters excellence and engagement; a culture which focuses on the performance the clients desire
- Bachelor's Degree; prefer business, engineering, or technically oriented fields; advanced/MBA a degree a plus
- Experience leading a sales and/or marketing department
- Understanding of logistics, supply chain, and/or distribution
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving ability; sound judgment; process orientation
- Successful experience providing oversight to large scale construction projects
- Strong computer skills; technology savvy
- Ability to effectively interact with managers, employees, and customers
- Ability to effectively lead and manage in a cross-functional, team oriented environment
