Job Description: 
Family-owned mushroom grower-packer is looking to fill a key role and join our team and streamline operations to ensure maximum efficiency. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, responsible individual that has the confidence and industry know-how to work with an existing team in receiving, processing, packing, and shipping mushrooms in a professional and respectful manner.  The Operations manager is the first contact for matters of scheduling, maintenance, inventory control, and transportation.
  • Inspect inbound product and check outbound product to maintain quality, inventory, and food safety standards
  • Work closely and communicate with all departments, including quality assurance, sales, HR, and farm management
  • Communicate with growers and other vendors to ensure that raw product and supply levels are in line with order fulfillment needs.
  • Manage production staff and drivers. Duties include hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary action when needed.
  • Effectively control warehouse and production costs, including supply purchases and overtime
  • Manage equipment and fleet maintenance by both performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting immediate issues
  • Work with PM cleaning team, providing clear direction, and coordinating scheduling
  • Follow Company Policies and Procedures
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management
  • An understanding of the produce industry, preferably in the mushroom category
  • A proven track record of managing efficient and dedicated production teams
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, practiced is a collaborative manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with receiving and inventory control software
