Job Description:
Headquartered in Southeast Pennsylvania, the CEO of the East Coast’s largest produce and fresh fruit warehouse company requires a General Manager for its start-up truck brokerage division. The preferred candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a minimum of 7 years experience in consolidation and LTL delivery of perishables. He or she will recruit, hire and train his or her staff, and negotiate contracts and rates with O/O’s, an in-house carrier, and third party trucking companies.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manage the daily operations of a freight brokerage, including scheduling and tracking shipments, negotiating with freight carriers and handling customer questions
- Match carriers with customers and maintain positive customer and carrier relations
- Negotiate contracts and rates
Qualifications:
- 7 years experience in consolidation and LTL delivery of perishables
- Knowledge of contracting and negotiating
- Knowledge of budget and variance reporting
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to develop a business and marketing plan and report month on progress
