We are an international air-freight forwarder handling import and export, currently seeking to hire a Warehouse Manager in the LAX area. We handle primarily temperature-controlled commodities – fresh fruit & produce, perishable foods, pharmaceuticals and flowers. We are not a cold storage warehouse, distribution facility or ocean operation. We screen and palletize products upon arrival and 90+% of our incoming product is shipped within 24 hours of arrival. This is an extremely fast-paced, quick turn-around and time sensitive environment.
• Responsible for the handling and physical movement of freight as required
• Implement work instructions for receiving, labeling, storing, shipping and value add services as required using warehouse best practices
• Responsible for the secure and space-optimizing build-up of cargo onto ULDs
• Responsible (with the Compliance manager) for ensuring all warehouse activities are in compliance with TSA, shipping, food safety and other regulatory requirements
• Maximize the storage capacity of the warehouse through the proper management of the product at receipt and during storage
• Work with Operations and Compliance managers as a team to solve problems and identify areas to improve/enhance overall service to the customer
• Hire, train, reward, discipline, and discharge employees
• Responsible (with Compliance manager) for the security of the warehouse
• Ensure safety is a number one consideration on the warehouse floor and with drivers
• Administrative duties including scheduling, time cards, maintaining materials inventory and other duties as needed
