As a Fresh Produce Operations Manager on the night shift, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the punctual and efficient delivery of our top-tier produce offerings to our valued customers. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing all facets of our nighttime operations while providing essential support to our sales and customer service units.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Financial Stewardship: Supervise expenditures, manage capital purchases, and uphold budgetary compliance.
- Operational Streamlining: Assess and implement systems to facilitate scalability.
- Team Leadership: Directly oversee warehouse personnel, offering guidance and mentorship.
- Vendor Relations: Cultivate and oversee supplier relationships, negotiate for materials and services.
- Strategic Vision: Contribute to and execute strategic initiatives.
- Operational Efficiency: Devise and implement top-notch processes for daily warehouse activities.
- Food Safety Oversight: Manage risk, recalls, and HACCP implementation.
- Inventory Mastery: Create and maintain inventory strategies, ensuring traceability and integrity.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Safety Assurance: Uphold warehouse safety and security protocols.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Foster close collaboration with the Accounting and Sales Departments.
- Ethical Representation: Act as a principled representative of the company in all interactions.
- Confidentiality: Safeguard company information and resources.
- System Integration: Roll out system-wide control system enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid grasp of transportation and logistics.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the fresh produce sector.
- Possesses strategic, creative thinking capabilities with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exemplary customer service skills with both customers and suppliers, coupled with a firm grasp of finance and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the Grower/Shipper side of the industry.
- Strong familiarity with Warehouse HR Laws and Safety compliance.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills (Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus).
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Google platforms.
- Proficiency in ProducePro Software is mandatory.
