Maintenance Director

Job Description: 

The Maintenance Director is responsible for maintenance activities in the plants, as well as buildings & grounds and other duties as assigned. This person will manage a department of 10 full-time employees plus 5 seasonal staff members. The Maintenance Director will develop the maintenance budget, manage preventive/predictive maintenance programs, and manage contractors on capital projects. This position is located in Yuma, Arizona with minimum travel required.

Requirements: 
  • 15+ years overall maintenance experience, and 10+ years’ experience supervisory is required.
  • Must have successful maintenance leadership experience in consumer products manufacturing - food industry experience is preferred.
  • Must have experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), specifically the Autonomous and Effective Maintenance pillars.
  • Experience with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), preventive and predictive maintenance programs is required.
  • Must have experience leading / coaching teams on continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience with fruit color sorting/optical equipment (cameras and software) or similar is required.   
  • Experience with PLCs, fillers/weighers (vertical form and fill machinery) a plus.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Significantly improve the reliability of all packaging and processing systems.
  • Works to optimize utilization of employees, materials, and equipment.
  • Supports the Autonomous Maintenance and Early Equipment Management pillars.
  • Development and Execution of $2.0M+ Capital budget.
  • Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget/ $1.0M in equipment and Labor.
  • Ensure implementation of Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Ensure maintenance department meets all food safety and HACCP requirements.
  • Compliant with OSHA regulations.
Education: 

Bachelor’s degree is required, prefer engineering degree.

Skills: 
  • English/Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point and MS Projects.
