Delightful Quality Produce Company LLC, is a family-owned grower, wholesaler and distributor of fresh produce based in Tempe, AZ. Founded in 2009, with the mission of shortening the supply chain between consumer and grower to ensure the freshest product on the shelves every time. We operate over 250 acres of protected agriculture and over 1,500 acres of open field fruits and vegetables.

Job Description:

We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated Accountant and Human Resource Manager to join our team in Tempe, AZ.

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with demonstrated experience in Accounting, Finance, Operations Management, and Human Resource. Additional qualifications required include excellent listening skills, strong analytical skills, and a self-solve attitude.

As a family run operation, successful candidates will have a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities. This position reports to the CEO.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of the accounting operation, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Oversee all accounting functions including AR, AP, GL, Cost & Inventory Accounting, & Revenue Recognition
  • Develop, manage, and lead the accounting team
  • Establish Internal Controls, Policies, Procedures, & Work-Flow Systems
  • Budgeting & Financial Forecasting
  • Chart of Accounts Maintenance & Control
  • Research & Resolution of Accounting Issues
  • Compilation, Analysis, and Presentation of Financial Statements
  • Define, Calculate, and Report on Operational & Financial Key Performance Indicators
  • Facilitate Internal & External Audits
  • Provide Accounting/Financial Insight on Company Strategic Plans
  • Management of Bank Accounts, Credit Lines, & Loan Payments
  • Oversee Journal Entries (Standard, Recurring, & Adjusting)
  • Oversee Bank Reconciliations, Grower Accounting, Trade Assessments, Grower Financing, Grower Expense Recoveries, Lot Liquidations, Payroll, Employee Reimbursements, Insurance, Licensing, Permits, and Certification Payments
  • External party interaction with Growers, Buyers, Material & Service Providers, Regulatory Bodies, Trade Associations, Auditing Firms, Attorneys, etc.
  • Oversee all aspects of HR Management within the facility. This includes recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and payroll
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for hiring qualified employees
  • Managing onboarding and orientation processes for new employees
  • Address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances in a fair and compassionate manner
  • Promote a culture of open communication and teamwork
  • Monitor employee performance and provide feedback and coaching
  • Ensure compliance with federal, cross state, and local labor laws and regulations
  • Ensure cross state Department of Health compliance and CMS regulations
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including health and retirement plans
  • Directs and handles the Workers Comp Program
  • Handles all leaves of absence for all employees
  • Assist in implementing the day-to-day policies and procedures governing the payroll functions
  • Process and verify time cards/sheets, etc., on a timely basis
  • Prepare payroll checks in accordance with current pay periods to assure that employee checks are received on a timely basis

Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field
  • CPA is a plus
  • Bilingual: Spanish and English
