Job Description:
Brent Hartley Farms, LLC and Hartley Produce, LLC, is a well-established farming and packing operation. We have been growing onions for over 60 years. Despite our years of experience, we pride ourselves on continually looking for new ways to improve our processes, expand our product offerings and build lasting relationships.
We are currently looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team. This person will work closely with the Management Team and owners of Brent Hartley Farms, LLC and Hartley Produce, LLC. and will be responsible for all of the accounting, budgeting, costing and inventory activities for farming and packing operations. We are looking for an experienced accountant who has the ability to handle the hands-on day to day accounting tasks as well as higher-level big picture functions such as reporting, analysis and systems/process improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all GL accounting functions including journal entries, accruals, reconciliation and review, cash application and month end close for both entities

Preparation of financial statements

Cost accounting & analysis

Variance Analysis

Tax preparation and planning for personal and business filings

Oversight of internal controls and process improvement to ensure financial compliance and overall efficiency in accounting

Prepare for financial audits

Partner with operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all farm costs and operational metrics

Work closely with the management team on all accounting and finance related issues
QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in the agricultural industry

BA in accounting or related field preferred

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

A self-starter with the ability to work in a group or independently,

Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Strong analytical skills

Proficient in accounting software Famous or similar program
