As a Service Technician working in the Ventura, California area with JBT FoodTech, you will service and maintain lease and/or sold machinery and chemical systems in customer fresh fruit packinghouses.

Mandatory:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated previous advanced mechanical ability.
- Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical controls.
- Ability to weld and burn.
- Some travel and overnight stays away from the home area are required.
Preferred:
- Technical School for electrical & welding.
- Understanding of packinghouse operations.
- Prior mechanical work on JBT FoodTech machinery in a packinghouse environment.
- Programming controller experience.
- Basic knowledge of chemical handling and processing.
- Hold a valid California Hazard Classification driver’s license.
- Maintain and service all JBT FoodTech Leased Machinery on a routine basis to ensure that all equipment and systems are functioning properly.
- Mix and test chemicals in the field to verify proper dilution and effectiveness.
- Maintain proper inventory of leased machinery parts and chemical use at packinghouses to assure machinery down time.
- Possess the ability to fabricate, assemble and install Leased Machinery systems.
- Maintain all reports and records for internal and external audits.
- Implement preventative maintenance and overhaul programs that minimize parts costs, labor costs, and machinery downtime.
- Maintain proper professional attire, grooming, and work environment to help maintain JBT Food Tech’s image.
- Work closely with customer personnel in the operation of their plant(s), and report day-to-day problems and opportunities immediately to your supervisor.
WORK LOCATION:
This position will be working in customer plants around the Ventura, California area and will also be responsible for occasional coverage in other Southern California and Arizona locations as directed by management. Some travel and overnight stays away from the home area are required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be physically capable of:
- Working 8+ hours per day, 7 days per week for extended periods during the fresh fruit processing season.
- Working around moving industrial machinery.
- Working around exposure to machinery noise, chemicals, and fumes from associated products.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and squatting.
- Working in moderate cold to extreme heat.
- Using hand tools.
- Lifting up to 50lbs.
- Stepping up/down material handling equipment (forklift truck).
