Job Description:

Legacy Cooling, a pre-cooling and cold storage warehouse management company in Salinas, CA & Yuma, AZ, is seeking a manager level individual to add to a growing and dynamic team. This individual would oversee, train, and enforce all areas pertaining to Food Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Safety, and Labor Relations. This includes conducting internal inspections, ensuring managers are fulfilling daily, weekly, and monthly documentation requirements, and assisting with employee onboarding, trainings, and discipline. Work would be conducted at multiple fixed site warehouses (coolers), as well as time procuring supplies with various vendors in the area.

This is a high-level position that will work directly under the direction of the CEO as well in conjunction with facility managers and company vendors.

Seeking applicant with the following experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience working as a coordinator, manager, or director (or equivalent type position) in agricultural management.
Food safety experience, including giving trainings, writing SOPs, participating, or leading Primus and customer audits.
Experience in purchasing, cost management, vendor management, material procurement, and organized distribution of food safety / safety materials, facility supplies, and PPE.
Experience giving trainings or presentations to individuals and groups larger than 10 persons.

Mandatory:

Read, write, and converse in Spanish and English.
Proficiency level for Spanish and English – Able to give trainings in both languages, able to write policy and update existing policy/procedures at a professional level.
Lift up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, walking, and sitting
Able to work 10-to-12-hour days
Valid US driver’s license and clean driving record
Travel to/from and live in the following cities during the year: Yuma, AZ (November to April) & Salinas, CA (April to November)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred:

Safety experience: managing worker comp claims, investigating, and reporting workplace injuries, taking employees to/from the clinic for injury care.
Ability to create PowerPoint (or equivalent) presentations.
Knowledge or training in the following programs: Risk Management Program (RMP), Process Safety Management Program (PSM), Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), Primus Audit Modules 1, 5, & 6.
