POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary focus for the Corporate Controller will be to establish, monitor and enforce financial policies and procedures, lead and develop the accounting and finance team, develop reporting and analysis to support the operations and sales teams, manage cost accounting and cash flow, and preparation of monthly financial statements and annual budgets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the accounting department; develop policies, procedures and controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financial results.
  • Ensure the development of a scalable infrastructure to support a dynamic, growing company across multiple locations.
  • Ensure timely month-end close and reporting and analysis of results
  • Cash forecasting
  • Budget development and tracking
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Oversee all aspects of accounting, cost and grower accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, plant accounting and accounting for all company investments.
  • Ability to travel to company locations as necessary
  • Partner with IT to ensure ERP system, process, master files, security, and data is managed to provide proper financial reporting and controls.
  • This individual will be responsible to ensure that all policies, controls, and process improvement activities are successfully completed to support operational requirements.
  • Partner with operations, to ensure accurate and effective inventory control and cost accounting processes, systems and procedures.
  • Oversee all payments made for debts, bank loans, and other investments
  • Monitor cash and funding balances
  • Manage relationships with key financial partners - including, Customers, Vendors and Joint Venture Partners.
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Maintain Asset and equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and purchase and financing techniques.
  • Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Controller Skills and Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be a team player, who develops and values relationships internally and externally and focuses on results that provide insights to support decision making for all aspects of the company.
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience developing policy and executing on processes improvements; experience with ERP system implementation, developing standards, audit, pricing, cost accounting, and tracking budget vs. actual results; strong financial skills and demonstrated experience analyzing Information and developing reporting and budgets; and experience developing and leading teams to achieve results.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field
Compensation/Salary: 
$120,000-$140,000
