Job Description:
Provides leadership for distribution, warehouse (shipping and receiving), inventory control, and transportation. Provides logistics support to servicing customers, provides oversight of product transportation activities, develops a logistics network to international and U.S. customers, including route efficiency and oversight of the entire supply chain environment of the company at multiple sites.

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Operations or Logistics preferred; professional certification in logistics management is a plus (APICS).
- 5 years of transportation and warehousing experience dealing with perishable products, preferably in a manufacturing or agriculture environment.
- Resourceful and effective at building partnerships in and out of the company.
- Proven track records of strong negotiation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic sales environment and to meet tight deadlines and customer requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a PC.
- MRP experience; SAP a plus; WMS experience a plus; knowledge of real-time freight software, DRP (distribution resource planning), and bar code scanning a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- Experience with SQF and food safety programs.
- Knowledge of transportation laws.
- Knowledge of logistics, delivery processes, quality control costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective distribution of perishable products.
- Direct experience with routing and load planning.
- Understands the management of national and international freight movements and the regulatory environment affecting such.
- Private fleet experience a plus.
- Ability to manager and direct carriers and drivers in a respectful but firm manner.
- Knowledge of inventory management optimization and deployment.
- Knowledge of CalOSHA regulations in a warehouse environment.
