Job Description: 

The Muzzi family has been in the produce industry for over 50 years, involved in growing, harvesting, processing, sales and shipping of Fresh and Frozen vegetable products. Muzzi Family Farms handles the Fresh and Frozen sales for the Muzzi family's group of processing companies. 

We are looking for a Sales Associate to join our Sales Team in Salinas, CA, that will sell our Fresh Leafy Greens (Spinach, Arugula, Kale and Spring Mix). This person will develop and maintain strong business relationships by providing an outstanding, top rate service experience for our existing  and new clients. 

Responsibilities & Duties: 

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Generate new customer leads by researching internet/Bluebook/PMA.
  • Make daily calls and generate sales to existing and new clients.
  • Assist clients in selecting products best suited to their needs.
  • Develop effective pricing proposals for current and prospective customers.
  • Provide timely delivery of solutions to customers' needs.
  • Coordinate sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting and logistics.
  • Work with the Sales Team as needed to identify customer opportunities.
  • Assist in preparation of new product launches.
  • Prepare price list under manager's supervision, as well as sending them to customers.
  • Track customer orders from start to finish.
  • Send confirmation of sale to customers in a timely manner.
  • Assist A/R Dept when needed, regarding collection of payments from customers.
  • Perform other duties as required.


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of Conventional and/or Organic Leafy Greens foodservice sales experience.
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and analytically.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent vendor management skills with strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including demonstrated proficiencies in all Microsoft Applications.
  • This position requires the ability and willingness to travel.
  • Excellent analytical thinking skills and problem solving
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task under tight time constraints.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
