The Position

We have an immediate need for a QC/Operations Manager to join our 104-year-old produce company during an exciting stage of growth and acceleration. Our Berries division is seeking an experienced Quality Control and Operations Manager to oversee and manage the quality assurance and operational processes of our Berries company. The ideal candidate will ensure that all products meet the highest standards for safety, quality, and consistency, while optimizing operational efficiency in our distribution center.

The ideal candidate is a bilingual (English/Spanish) operations professional with a strong background in fresh produce, food distribution, logistics, or related perishable goods industries. This individual will drive operational excellence, improve efficiencies, and ensure customers consistently receive high-quality products on time.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control standards and testing protocols for berries.
  • Lead the operations team in daily activities including inventory management, packaging, shipping, and logistics.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and develop strategies to improve productivity while reducing costs.
  • Oversee training programs relating to quality assurance, safety standards, and operational best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
  • Handle customer complaints and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to quality control and operational metrics.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quality control and operations management, preferably in the fresh produce or berry industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of sustainable farming practices is a plus.
