At Capitol City Produce, we’re looking for a Quality & Ripening Manager who can lead our ripening operations, ensure exceptional product quality, and guide a team dedicated to delivering the best produce to our customers.I

What You'll DoAs the Quality & Ripening Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards before reaching our customers.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the ripening process in controlled environments to ensure products reach ideal quality and consistency.
  • Monitoring temperature, humidity, and airflow to create optimal ripening conditions.
  • Leading and mentoring the ripening team, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Inspecting product quality including color, texture, and overall condition.
  • Collaborating with warehouse, logistics, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations and on-time shipments.
  • Maintaining ripening equipment and systems to ensure reliable performance.
  • Troubleshooting issues related to ripening speed, product defects, or equipment.
  • Driving continuous improvement by identifying ways to improve processes and productivity.
  • Ensuring food safety and compliance with SQF, GMP, and company standards.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines leadership, attention to detail, and operational knowledge.Ideal candidates will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, food processing, agriculture, or ripening operations
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance and environmental controls
  • Experience leading or supervising teams
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and operational reporting
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations

What the Work Environment Looks Like

This role takes place in a fast-paced refrigerated warehouse environment where teamwork and safety are essential.You should be comfortable with:

  • Temperatures ranging from -5° to 60°
  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
  • Lifting up to 60 lbs and moving heavier loads when needed
  • Working around forklift traffic and active warehouse operations
