Ratto Bros, Inc. is a 100-year-old family-owned farming operation selling conventional and organic vegetables and leafy greens to retailers and packers throughout the U.S. As a vertically integrated grower, packer, and shipper, we have full control over every aspect of our business that allows us to stay true to our ongoing commitment to provide the freshest, safest, and highest quality produce on the market.

We are searching for an ideal candidate who can help grow our current customer base while also being eager to cultivate new business opportunities. Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, this role calls for a dedicated and exceptionally organized team player who aspires to become a leader in sales and commodity management. The key to success in this position lies in leveraging your knowledge and integrity to establish strong relationships both internally and externally. We are particularly interested in candidates with a robust network of customer connections, underpinned by a stellar reputation and unwavering integrity.

To excel in this role, candidates must possess substantial experience in direct selling of Produce, Greens, Value Added (specifically, bagged salads), and commodity bulk.

Responsible for:

  • Expand and nurture the existing customer base.
  • Develop and foster new business opportunities.
  • Service existing accounts by obtaining orders, selling, fielding questions and establish new accounts.
  • Customer Support including problem-solving & inventory management.
  • Accounting and administrative tasks for assigned accounts.
  • Maintenance and update of standard procedures to support assigned customers and stabilize/improve customer service activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently multi task and successfully meet deadlines and timelines.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
  • Maintain a leading-edge awareness of the changing business and market trends in the produce industry.
  • Work with the Sales Manager to develop and execute a sales plan for each commodity.
  • Manage the negotiations of pricing, availability and daily transactional with customers.
  • Communicate all relevant information related to market conditions, quality, availability, and logistics to customers.
  • Interact up and down the supply chain (transportation, warehouses, growers) to ensure successful relationships with our customers and growers.
  • Review customers and make sure they are aligned with our company strategies to achieve sales goals.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Agriculture or a related field, or a combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong research and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and CRM software.
  • Ability to work independently and with cross functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize and define problems, find possible solutions and execute a plan to overcome them.
