Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Responsible for supervision and accountability of accounting staff and systems.
  • This position is responsible for all day to day accounting activities for the company and plays a critical role in managing the operating budget to delivery financial processes and IT systems needed to support the company’s growth.   
  • This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of and adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with general accepted accounting principles. 
  • Oversee the overall corporate budgeting preparation, management and monitoring processes.
  • Ensure financial team follows company policies and regulations.
  • Responsible for all month end close activities.
  • Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements; Balance Sheet, Income statement and Cash Flow statements are prepared and delivered on time.
  • Generate management reports as required.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for tax reporting, insurance policies and banking activities.
  • Oversee all accounting processes and internal controls
  • Serve as a backup for the HR manager. This includes payroll processing, employee benefits management and employee services.
Ideal Candidate: 

This position is based out of Sutter County 25 miles near Sacramento International Airport. We offer a business casual work environment in a beautiful country setting outside of Sutter County. Local candidates encouraged to apply, applicants outside of 60 miles of Sutter County will NOT be considered.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or business.
  • Minimum 5 years of managing an accounting department preferably in an ag/manufacturing setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory and accounting reporting standards, cost management techniques and financial analysis and budgets required.
  • Demonstrated expertise as a financial leader with excellent problem-solving skills, proven capability to motivate change, proven ability to balance execution of strategic  vision with a willingness to dive into details and consistent results orientation
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including excellent interpersonal skills, willingness to challenge and improve current procedures and processes and an open collaborative leadership style that promotes teamwork and partnership.
  • Superior analytic skills and business acumen, sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement and a good educator who is willing to share information and serve as a mentor.
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office and advanced excel.
Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or business.
